Last month, NTPC had commissioned 115 MW capacity out of the 260 MW Bhadla solar power project. NTPC has planned capacity addition of about 1,000 MW through renewable resources by 2017. "Under this policy, a sub quota of 33 per cent for women in allotment of each of the reserved catering units is being introduced on Indian Railways in order to extend economic empowerment for women. It is also in compliance with the announcement made in Railway Budget 2016-17," the statement said.

Presenting the budget for the financial year 2017-18, Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya gave details of the "Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana", which is proposed to come into effect from April this year.
He said that under the scheme, the government will pay fees of the students getting admission in prestigious institutions after scoring a minimum of 85 per cent marks in Class XII.
"A separate corpus of Rs 1,000 crore will be created for the purpose, and for now, Rs 500 crore has allocated under the head," Malaiya said.
