Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal says that health, hygiene and education come first in his government’s agenda. He inaugurated a toilet complex consisting nearly 150 lavatories in a south Delhi neighbourhood. “Our government is committed to work for the poor,” said Kejriwal at the Kalkaji complex. “We have made 7,000 toilets for the people of Delhi, mainly for women in slum areas. About 945 toilets are still to be constructed,” said the Aam Aadmi Party chief.
To facilitate health facilities in the state, Haryana government is planning to issue health cards for all. State Health Minister Anil Vij said, “Tenders have been allotted to private agencies to prepare the health cards.”
He said that these health cards would facilitate the people in getting treatment for their ailments without repeated check-ups. He also added that 19 Community Health Centres and 72 Primary Health Centres were being constructed in the state.

Madhya Pradesh has embarked on an ambitious plan to develop 1,100 ‘climate-smart’ villages with an aim to prepare farmers to manage the climate change risks timely and ensure good productivity.
“The government has been planning to develop 1,100 villages as climate-smart villages in a period of next six years,” said state Farmer Welfare & Agriculture Development Department Principal Secretary Dr Rajesh Rajora.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy distributed loans worth Rs 1.5 crore each to women and differently-abled people in the union territory, to enable them to launch self-employment projects and petty businesses.
In an official release, Narayanasamy said the loans were given under a scheme of the Puducherry government-owned Corporation for Women and Differently-abled Persons covering 156 persons during the fiscal year 2016-2017.

Andaman Island is all set to get the country’s first solar storage power plant. The country’s largest power generator company NTPC, has decided set up two solar storage power plants in the famous holiday destination. Unlike the previous plants, the new ones can store the excessive energy from the panel to have continuous energy availability even at night.

Constructing 8000 toilets within 20 days, Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand has created a new record under the Swachh Bharat Mission. It was enlisted in Limca Book of records for the large number of toilets constructed within this small window of time.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain recently said Delhi government is planning on converting the Rajghat Power Plant into a waste-to-energy plant. A waste-to-energy plant is a waste management facility that uses waste to produce electricity. These plants burn municipal solid waste but the only recyclable and non-hazardous items are burned.
Jain said, "It is a viable option and the site is ideal as it is accessible from all three municipalities. We are thinking about starting with a capacity of 4,000 tonnes. If we do that, we would have enough capacity to at least process the new garbage that is generated every day."
